Evergreen DN-DV320

Yep, this is ancient news.

A japan firm started selling a DV camera alternative, utilizing an “XviD” (= a not so complete MPEG4 implementation) encoder, with such high resolutions as 320×240 and 640×480.

-break->

It even has a 2” LCD, 16 Mb internal storage (wow, that’s huge) and an empty SD slot. Rumours are about the SD slot being limited to 512 Mb.

Not to speak about it’s price, 17.800 JPY (~= 130 EUR). Not only that makes it a bit childish (or geekish) but the menu system and overall performance.

However, for that price, I would try hacking Linux or BSD onto it :)
