Multimedia hackers blogging

I think sharing this nice list is a good idea, every page has something interesting in it.

Blogs of FOSS multimedia hackers I know or work with:

  • [Mike Melanson|http://www.multimedia.cx/eggs/] does reverse engineering and likes to watch FMV (Full Motion Video) out of old games.
  • [Michael Niedermayer|http://guru.multimedia.cx/] writes about mathematics behind multimedia and demostrates the uses with examples.
  • [Konstantin Shishkov|http://codecs.multimedia.cx/]
  • Everyone knows [Jon Lech Johansen|http://nanocrew.net/], the DVD CSS fame. Nowadays he does VideoLAN.
  • [Luca Barbato|http://planet.gentoo.org/developers/lu_zero/]
  • [Tinic Uro|http://www.kaourantin.net/] is a Flash developer at Macromedia, but he wrote FFmpeg’s support.
  • [Panagiotis Issaris|http://issaris.blogspot.com/] (and his [homepage|http://lumumba.uhasselt.be/takis/])
  • [Sam Hocevar|http://sam.zoy.org/]
  • No blog from [Fabrice Bellard|http://bellard.org/] yet, but he occassionally adds a new interesting project to his site.

And the easter egg: [Zhou Wang|http://www.cns.nyu.edu/~zwang/], he is not a FOSS developer, but has interesting papers on video quality measurement and control. Rich Felker proposed using UIQ for FFmpeg’s ratecontrol.

I am sure some precious blogs are left from this list, so please make me aware of them.
